In 2022, I started writing a movie with my friend Mary.
In 2023, we made the movie.
In 2024, we premiered the movie at The Downtown Festival and then took it to festivals around the country, and held screenings around the world.
In 2025, the movie is finally receiving its official New York City theatrical run at the legendary Quad Cinema!!!!!
Making a movie, especially in this city, is insane—a beautiful, self-inflicted torture. We shot this film in the middle of winter on some of the coldest days of the year, doing take after take of the same shot that required me to dump freezing cold water on my head. It was awful, but I did what I had to do. After the elements do everything they can to stop you, you’ve got the entire city trying to do the same: the traffic, the sirens, and the people screaming, all conspiring against you. It's beautiful and maddening all at once, but it's always worth it. Somehow, we kept going, and we fucking did it. This is a small film, but it's a big victory. It’s a common saying that every movie is a miracle. I 100% agree.
It would mean the world to me if you came and saw the movie in the theaters.
There are a bunch of different screenings and you can buy tickets here.

On a rainy December morning in Brooklyn, strangers Olivia and Amir happen to arrive at the same apartment building at the same time. They’re there to see Teddy, a silly petty criminal. Oddly, Olivia and Amir learn they both desperately need the same amount of money from Teddy. But there’s a problem. Teddy doesn’t have the money, a guy named Uptown Mike has it and he lives in Harlem. Without any other options, Olivia and Amir head north together.
Sitting across from each other on the subway, the pair make small talk before arguing about modern dating and feminism. Once they reach Mike’s they find out he won’t be back for hours and they don’t have time to go all the way back to Brooklyn. So they go to lunch at a diner. Taking off their coats, Olivia’s attractiveness surprises Amir and they talk about the nuances of desire. They delve into personal topics before Olivia suddenly rushes to the bathroom while Amir receives a mysterious call.
